THE Coal Shed has been named as one of the best places to eat near the Premier League’s 20 stadiums.

OpenTable, a restaurant booking service, has handpicked a number of venues across the country.

They include The Coal Shed in Boyces Street, Brighton.

Its guide says: “Brighton’s Coal Shed has a pretty simple recipe to keep its customers satisfied: meat, fish, fire.

“The highly rated steakhouse takes its name from a preference for cooking on flames to pack the food with extra flavour.

“Don’t just take their word for it though, they have been named one of the UK’s top restaurants at the Observer Food Monthly Awards.”

The Coal Shed and its sister restaurant The Salt Room raised more than £8,800 for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.

They raised the money by creating special Chestnut Tree House desserts and donating £1 every time someone orders one.

Restaurant director Raz Helalat said: “We chose to work with Chestnut Tree House as we wanted to be able to support one charity exclusively in order to make a more significant contribution and impact.

“When we found out about the work it does for children and families, and such a huge part of their funding relies solely on charitable donations, it made it impossible for us not to want to help.”
