ONLINE accountancy firm Crunch is celebrating being shortlisted for four national business awards.

The nominations, spread across three award ceremonies, recognise the work of Crunch as a business, its accounting software, and also the individuals who help the company excel.

Following award successes in 2016 and 2017, Crunch, a Brighton firm, has been nominated for these overall business awards:

British Small Business Awards – accountancy software provider of the year

British Accountancy Awards – practice excellence, mid-tier firm of the Year

Accounting Excellence Awards – practice accountancy pioneer of the year - CEO and founder Darren Fell has been nominated for his leadership and the growth and innovations he has led Crunch to achieve in the past year.

British Accountancy Awards – rising star of the year

Dillis Wei Qin, an accounting services manager, has been shortlisted for the rising star of the year award.

She is an integral part of the accountancy team and this nomination recognises her hard work.

Darren Fell said: “These nominations reflect the tireless efforts of our talented employees in supporting the brilliant self-employed people and small business owners who trust us with their finance every day.

“Whether we win or not, finding ourselves shortlisted for four awards at once is something to be proud of and grateful for.”

Crunch has to wait until September 20 for the first announcement with another a week later and the final ceremony on October 31.

Crunch is the UK’s first and fastest-growing online accountant, combining a team of in-house accountants with simple online accounting software.

In recent years, it has also created many other tools to empower the self-employed, including specialist mortgage, insurance and investments and pensions products.

Its free community for micro-businesses, Crunch Chorus, has so far helped more than 50,000 freelancers, contractors, and small businesses by providing business guides, templates, and access to events and networking opportunities.
