A WOMAN is walking 565 miles down the Australian coast to raise money for a veteran charity.

Kirsty Robson, who lives in Brighton, is currently making the solo trek from Brisbane to Sydney and is due to finish before the Invictus Games begin on October 20.

The sponsorship money she raises will go to Rock 2 Recovery, which supports service men and women, veterans and families whose lives are affected by stress, anxiety, depression and PTSD.

Kirsty said she chose to raise money for the charity because she comes from a military background.

She said: “Those who have served our country and faced terrible things that most of us can’t imagine sometimes come home and they still have a battle to fight.

“Sometimes this battle is too hard and they feel like ending their lives and their fight.

“I want to help Rock 2 Recovery help these people and provide them the support they need, to help not only in the immediate but also adjust to life back home.”

She has set herself a target of £1,000.
