TWO men stole laptops, champagne, mobile phones, cash and a TV from a string of businesses across three counties.

Unemployed Andrew Lewin, 43, and railway worker Gary Roland Reilly, 51, were arrested in Guildford last Sunday in relation to .

They appeared before Brighton magistrates on New year’s Day.

Both men pleaded guilty to entering Springfield Road in Horsham and stealing Dell laptops and a bottle of champagne, and on the same day attempting to enter accountants Kreston Reeves with intent to steal.

They also pleaded guilty to entering Dropship Spy at the Chichester Enterprise Centre in Terminus Road, Chichester, and stealing a Lenovo Laptop.

In the same area, they admitted entering Arkle Acquisitions where they stole a cashbox containing £20, and entered both Book Folly and Springhouse Solicitors with intent to steal.

On December 28, they went on to steal an unknown number of laptops from a store in Andover.

Lewin also denied a charge of being jointley involved with Reilly in entering Grosvenor House in Sunbury-on-Thames on November 11 with intent to steal, but Reilly admitted the offence.

Lewin, from Caterham in Surrey, and Reilly, from Purley in Surrey, appeared before Brighton Magistrate’s on New Year’s Day, charged with commercial burglaries.

They have been remanded in custody to await sentencing at Lewes Crown Court on Monday, January 28.

After the hearing, Detective Sergeant Jason Vickers, of Sussex Police, said: “This was a complex case involving investigations by officers across three counties, but close co-operation and dedicated police work has resulted in these persistent offenders being brought before justices and admitting their crimes.”
