Fire crews were called to a burning car.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Cornwall Gardens just after midnight.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "We were called at seven minutes past midnight and had left the scene again by ten to one.
"There was just one car involved and no one was hurt.
Our crews used two breathing apparatus.
"It seems like it probably started by accident."
