A van and two motorbikes have been involved in two accidents on the same stretch of road today.

The first accident happened at about 6.48am on the A259 Little Common Road near Bexhill.

It involved a van and a motorbike.

About 30 minutes later a motorcyclist crashed about 300 yards away from the initial accident.

Police believe the motorcyclist may have slipped on diesel spilt from the first accident.

The road is expected to remain closed for about an hour while the surface is gritted.

Ambulance crews have attended the scenes and took one casualty to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.
