Drivers faced delays after a car overturned on a busy dual carriageway.

Police and paramedics were called to the A27 westbound at the Falmer turn-off at about 3.40pm today after the Ford Escort careered off the road and overturned.

The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries and shock.

Police closed the road while the driver was treated and the wreckage was cleared.

Motorists faced tailbacks but the road was re-opened just after 4pm.
