The parents of a woman swept to her death over a waterfall in Argentina paid tribute today to their "talented" and "beautiful" daughter.

Caroline Bayley, 29, is thought to have fallen 269ft to her death while sightseeing at Iguacu Falls.

Her parents Alexandra, 60, and Michael, 64, from Rye, said their daughter was a great traveller and had always wanted to explore South America.

In a statement they said: "She was a talented and passionate swimmer who loved dancing, skydiving and whitewater rafting and abseiling.

"Caroline was beautiful, kind, positive, intelligent and courageous.

"Her family and friends all over the world are at a loss to describe how much they will miss her."

Ms Bayley had last been seen on a tourist platform at the falls which are a major tourist attraction on the Argentinian-Brazilian border.

Her shoes were found on the viewing platform and prompted a search after park rangers alerted naval police.

Her body was found 120 yards down the river from the platform.

Ms Bayley had lived in a shared house in Bristol for the past six months after working in India and Australia.
