"We feel it's time for a little quality, a fresh take on house music," says Secret Disco's Kate Wildblood.
"We intend to use the night to break new DJs onto the scene, taking them out of the bedroom and into the bars and clubs of Brighton."
Part of the cunning plan behind this weekly disco excursion at R Bar also involves breaking down barriers between gay and straight clubbers, and it is hard to imagine a more suitable candidate for the task than chief conspirator Queen Josephine, pictured.
A charismatic connoisseur of all things soulful and funky, she has concocted a variety of compilations and won Best Female DJ at this year's Golden Handbag Awards.
