Terry Saunders Sitting On A Rug, The Three And Ten, Brighton, Apr 23

11:23am Friday 25th April 2008

It was a slightly deflated Terry Saunders that welcomed in the third Sitting On A Rug - his riposte to the standard comedy club format.

As he confessed in his introduction, he had just come off the back of a couple of bad gigs, and he didn't seem quite his sprightly self, not helped by the football-reduced small audience.

Joining Terry this month were Pappy's Fun Club's self-confessed nerd Matthew Crosby and the ultra-skinny, wide-eyed Tom Bell, who both provided a short stand-up spot before the three-way chat that distinguishes this comedy event from a standard comedy night.

The stories didn't seem to flow quite so well this week, unfortunately - focusing mainly on microphone technique and Tom's day job making internet security funny.

Once his two guests had left Terry seemed very alone on stage - and it was only the spontaneous offer of a dance from one of the audience members that left the evening on a high.
