8:49pm Thursday 15th May 2008

The husband of missing make-up artist Diane Chenery-Wickens was rearrested today after a woman's remains were discovered in woods.

A woman walking her dog made the grim find in Worth Lane at Little Horsted, just south of Uckfield this morning.

The heavily decomposed body, which has not yet been formally identified, was clothed and concealed in undergrowth about ten yards from the lane.

Mrs Chenery-Wickens, from Duddleswell, near Crowborough, was reported missing by her husband on January 24, after she failed to turn up at a meeting at the BBC.

Her husband David Chenery-Wickens, 51, was initially arrested over the murder of his wife, Diane, 48, in February.

His bail had been extended until May 30.

A police spokeswoman said: "At about 6pm today, Sussex Police rearrested a man in connection with the disappearance of 48-year-old Diane Chenery-Wickens from Duddleswell.

"The 51-year-old, also from Duddleswell, is being questioned by detectives from the Operation Hartley incident team."
