A romantic is desperately searching for a woman he believes could be 'the one' after a brief encounter.

Love-struck IT consultant Rob Wassell passed the mystery woman while riding his bike and has set up a website to try and find out who she is.

Describing the encounter on May 21 as "one of the strangest experiences of my life", the 39-year-old said he knew his quest was a bizarre thing to do but said he would rather wear his heart on his sleeve than face a lifetime of regret that he did nothing.

The woman, who stepped to one side to let Rob pass and smiled at him at Cuckmere Haven, near Seaford, was wearing baggy black trousers, a light-coloured sleeveless top and a headscarf.

As she walked away, Rob took a photo of her on his camera - a memento which he has used to try and trace her by putting it on his website www.mysterywoman.co.uk.

On the site, Rob has written to the woman in the hope that through publicising his search she will read his letter and contact him.
