I note the letter written by Councillor Ayas Fallon-Khan, (Letters, June 11), following the conviction of Thomas Maher who fraudulently claimed benefits of £100,000. Coun Fallon-Khan was quick to congratulate Brighton and Hove City Council's work pursuing this case to conviction.
What Coun Fallon-Khan fails to do is criticise the inefficiency of those who allowed Mr Maher to claim such an extraordinary amount over such a long period without any apparent checking or review.
