Man unconscious after assault

A man was found unconscious in the street early this morning after a suspected assault.

Police were called to Chapel Road, in Worthing, at 3am today after the man was found with a head injury.

The man was taken to hospital where his condition was described as critical but stable.

Scenes of crime officers were working at the scene this morning.

Sussex Police detectives are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 0845 6070999.

What scum ! Worthing is really bad for these attacks after hours. It's the 18 year olds out to get a name in a small town. Should be more police prescence after 2am

I agree with you, I live just outside Worthing and it is getting to be a real Sh*t hole, my wife and I are thinking of moving out of this dump to somewhere nicer. The only thing Worthing seems to offer is more and more pubs and night clubs most of Worthings economy revolves around alcohol. On the last note there needs to be much more police presence in the whole of worthing as the present cover is totally inadequate.

I agree, but it's not just Worthing it's lots of places. I used to live there many, many years ago and it has got worse. I left because it went so much downhill.

Yeah but crime figures are down remember...strange it doesn't feel like that though!!
