Two men have died after a pair of horrific road crashes.

The first happened at about 11am when a man driving a Peugeot crashed into the back of a lorry on the A283 Steyning bypass.

The road was closed in both directions between the Chanctonbury Ring Road and the roundabout near Bramber as the man was cut from the wreckage.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene by Sussex Police and a fire crew helped to move the wreckage. The road was closed for more than three hours.

Despite paramedics being flown to the scene the driver died before he could be taken to hospital At about 2.30pm a man died in another crash in Western Road, Lancing, after the car he was driving collided with a Royal Mail van.

The man, who was driving a Honda Jazz car, was pronounced dead at the scene. He had not been formally identified last night but police believe he lived locally.

The van driver was taken to Worthing Hospital and treated for minor injuries and shock.

Any witnesses to the accidents are asked to call Hove road policing unit on 0845 6070999.

Yet more 'horror' crashes. Don't you lot know ANY other adjectives/adverbs to describe road accidents?
