Police are searching for a metal bar after an attack which left a man in hospital.
A man in his 30s suffered a broken wrist and head injuries in the incident at Ashacre Court, Ashacre Lane, Worthing.
He is still being treated at Worthing Hospital today.
The attack happened after he called at a neighbour’s home at about 2.15am yesterday.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail while officers carry out further inquiries.
Detectives are still searching for the weapon, which they believe is a metal bar or piece of copper tubing, which is thought to have been thrown into a neighbouring garden.
