Historic properties across Brighton and Hove will again be opening their doors for free.
Brighton and Hove Open Door takes place between September 11 and 14, with over 50 events scheduled.
This year’s highlights include tours around the seafront Van Allen building, a rare opportunity to visit an early Regency property in the Old Steine, an event in Foundry Street, North Laine, which will list all of the occupants in each house from the 1820s to the 1970s, and a series of expert guided walks through the city.
Leigh Rush, one of the Open Door organisers, said: “What makes Brighton and Hove Open Door such a fascinating and unique event are the stories which people tell about their buildings and communities.
“Visitors are invited into places which are normally private or would charge for entry, to meet people who live or work there, or who know the history of the place better than anyone else.
“It's about what is special and distinctive about the places where we live.”
Nick Tyson, who coordinates the event, added: “This year we have a fantastic programme of events, thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of a wide range of volunteers and local organisers.
“I'm really looking forwards to signing up for several events myself."
Many of the visits can accommodate limited numbers and spaces must be reserved as soon as possible.
All allocations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Booking can be made from tomorrow on 01273 206306.
