A dead man found floating in a canal yesterday is believed to be Polish.
The body was found in Chichester Canal, between Chichester and Hunston, at 10.55am.
Police believe the man to be aged 44, although his identity has not yet been formally confirmed.
He is described as being 5ft 8, of large build, with a moustache and light brown receding hairstyle. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a beige waistcoat, blue jeans and white trainers Officers investigating his death are currently treating it as unexplained but are appealing for witnesses.
Detective Inspector Mark Gowling, from Chichester CID, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man of this description between Friday August 29 and Wednesday September 3 so that we can piece together the man's movements prior to his death."
