A £47,000 scheme to prevent flooding will install new drainage pipes and road gullies in a town.
The drainage works in Faygate Lane, Rusper, near Horsham, will start next Monday, September 15.
The road will be closed between Lambs Green and Wimlands Lane near Seers Croft from Monday to September 26.
There will also be temporary two-way traffic signals on other parts of the road from September 29 to October 10. The road will still be accessible to residents, pedestrians and horse riders.
Diversion routes in both directions will be via East Street, Horsham Road, Rusper Road, Horsham Northern Bypass, the A264 Crawley Road and then returning to Faygate Lane.
Work will be carried out from Monday to Friday, from 7.30am to 5pm and occasionally on Saturday from 8am to 1pm. It will take up to four weeks to complete.
