A university is hosting a series of public lectures and exhibitions next month.
The papers of Rudyard Kipling, the life of Lord Healey, sustainable global development and the effect of genetic mutation on humans are all being presented at the University of Sussex in October.
Expert speakers include Professor John Beddington, the chief scientific advisor to the Government.
The lectures are open to the public and admission is free.
The series continues in November with subjects including education, Francis Bacon, and computer simulations of the universe.
