You will be able to save pounds on everything from beer, pizza, clothes and bread thanks to The Argus.

The credit crunch has affected thousands of people across Sussex.

House-building plans have been put on hold, holiday companies have collapsed, businesses have been forced to close and even people’s diets have suffered from the cash squeeze.

On Saturday St Barnabas House Hospice in Southwick closed its doors for the last time.

Despite ten years of trading staff at the charity shop said that particular store couldn’t survive the economic downturn.

Similarly John Lighton, who is closing down the Brighton Angler fishing shop on Brighton seafront, blamed the credit crunch for the end of his business.

At the other end of the spectrum, Crawley-based holiday giant, XL, went into liquidation ten days ago, leaving thousands of people stranded across the world.

Once again ’fuel prices’ and ’the economic climate’ were to blame, according to bosses.

Now The Argus has decided to take on the challenge of the cash crisis and make sure that even though purse strings are tight there is still the opportunity to have fun and support businesses at the same time.

Every Friday there will be a two-page ’Beat The Credit Crunch With The Argus’ guide, providing money saving tips, discount vouchers and deals.

There will be lists of offers from supermarkets, restaurants, bars and shops.

As well as saving cash on food and drink there will also be the chance to get theatre tickets at slashed prices.

This Friday vouchers will be available for Cafe Rouge, Subway, The Priory Restaurant in Haywards Heath, Eastbourne Theatre and more.

The Food on Friday supplement will also give people the chance to claim a free bottle of Cava when dining at Pinxtopeople.

So don’t miss The Argus on Friday.
