Burglars have stolen £150 in Poppy Appeal collection tins from an MP’s home.
Des Turner, MP for Brighton Kemptown, said he would donate the money from his own pocket after cash for the Royal British Legion was taken from his property in Queen’s Park Terrace, Brighton.
He said: “It is disgusting that they would steal money from the Royal British Legion.”
His new iPhone was also stolen.
Sussex Police said a forensic team attended and officers have conducted house-to-house inquiries.
It is believed the burglary occurred sometime between 10.30pm on Friday, November 7, and 3.20am the next day.
