Watch Chloe take her shower

When it comes to getting wet - most moggies are right scaredy cats.

But this sparkling clean Persian puss looks like she’s fe-line right at home underneath the shower.

Owner Phil Gardner, said 13-year-old Chloe’s love of water came as a complete suprise.

Phil, 35, who works at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, said he thought his pampered pet would be furry-ious when he was advised to wash her long coat.

He said: “The reason she has showers is that she's a Persian cat but doesn't like being a Persian in that she hates having long hair as it gets matted.

“The vet recommended that I trim it and each time I do that she has a shower.

“The first time I washed her I was expecting that she would hit out. I got my mother around to help me but it turned out she was quite happy being sprayed with the shower.”

Phil said he wasn't sure of the reason why his cat, likes to feel the water splashing on her skin – especially her head.

He said: “She's a recovery cat and likes to be stroked a lot and I think that's why she likes having short fur so she can feel it. Maybe she just likes the feeling of the warm water.

So endearing is Chloe under the shower, Phil has posted a video of her on YouTube and set it to the tune of Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head.

The clip, which features on Phil's internet blog Mulled Whines, has already received a sizeable number of hits and is set to be an internet sensation.

But she will have some way to go though to be the top dog of water-loving cats.

One video on YouTube showing a cat in a full bath has received 3 million hits. Another cat called Hawkeye can be seen on the website scuba diving.
