Sussex mother Kay Gilderdale appeared in court today charged with the attempted murder of her seriously ill daughter.
Bridget KathleenGilderdale, known as Kay is called , was arrested at her home in Stonegate, near Heathfield, East Sussex, following the death of her daughter Lynn, 31, on December 4 last year.
It is alleged that Gilderdale attempted to murder her daughter, who had suffered from ME since the age of 14, between December 2 and December 4.
Wearing glasses, with a grey suit and a purple top, Gilderdale, 54, did not enter a plea during the brief preliminary hearing at Lewes Crown Court.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Lewes Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on July 3.
In a statement after Gilderdale was charged, her family said she retained their "unconditional support".
Relatives said Lynn, who was left paralysed by the illness, showed "immense bravery" during her 17-year battle against ME, enduring constant pain and requiring 24-hour care.
