Motorcyclist killed on A26 near Lewes is named


A motorcyclist who died in a crash with a lorry has been named as Paul Richardson.

Mr Richardson, 50, of Bowden Rise, Seaford, was riding a Triumph Daytona Motorbike on the A26 at Southease, near Lewes, when he collided with two waste lorries at 10am on Wednesday.

Mr Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Both lorry drivers suffered minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.

The road was closed in both directions from Beddingham to South Heighton for several hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.

Sussex Road Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses to the crash to call 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Norwich.
