Strange bike on display at Goodwood Festival of Speed

This weird and wonderful bicycle will be on display at this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed, which begins today.

It was created by Worthing’s Northbrook College student Stuart Slade, who is studying for a fine art degree, and is on display at Goodwood's sculpture park.

The artist, who caused a stir last year with his gigantic spider structures which were banned from their roundabout display in Arundel for distracting drivers, said of his recent work: “It's ambiguous – maybe some sort of post-apocalyptic future.”

Stars past and present of the motorsport world will be at Goodwood for the three-day event. Reigning F1 champ Lewis Hamilton will be there as well as current leader Jenson Button.

But the cars will be the real stars with a host of modern racers and classics on display for the crowds to enjoy.

Good idea, display something to distract from the interminable tedium that is F1. And then take some drugs.
