A couple were found drenched in blood outside their Shoreham home after a stabbing.
A 56-year-old was taken to hospital with a serious wound in his arm after he was stabbed with a hunting knife.
Detectives said the attack happened inside the house in Buci Crescent, Shoreham.
It is being treated as a domestic incident.
They are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the couple outside the house at about 10.50pm on Saturday.
The man was taken to Worthing Hospital but later discharged.
A 58-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
