A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash with a heavy goods vehicle.

The rider, who was from West Sussex and in his 40s, died after colliding with a lorry carrying a fairground ride.

Sussex Police were called to the scene of the accident, on the A285 at Halnaker, near Chichester at around 10am.

A police spokesman said: “The motorcyclist suffered several injuries including head injuries.

“Attempts were made by paramedics to revive him but they failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We are still investigating the cause of the crash and specialist roads police investigators are still there and speaking to witnesses.”
