Thousands of bikers head for Brighton

Thousands of bikers have begun to arrive in Brighton for the annual Ace Cafe reunion.

Organisers expect between 10,000 and 15,000 motorcyclists to turn up for the event in Madeira Drive, on the city's seafront.

Many will be part of an organised group leaving the famous biker's haunt Ace Cafe, in Stonebridge, North London, at 10.30am.

The event has been staged each year since 1996 when it was set up to celebrate Brighton's part in the history of the motorbike-riding Rockers.

It follows just two weeks after their famous rivals, the scooter riding Mods, stage their own reunion event on the seafront.

Madeira Drive will be set up with trade stands and a band stage with performances from groups including The Memphis Flashers and The Silver Brazilians.

They are alreay getting a warm welcome with our brave boys in blue out there with speed cameras collecting revenue.

Meanwhile residents on the outskirts of Brighton were keep awake all night by a rave thumping across the downs.

Good work boys.No lack of resource when in comes taxing people early on a sunny Sunday morning.

PS Welcome Bikers.

Do you ever get the feeling no one is slightly bothered about what happens to bog standard people in this city. They take our money and find interesting causes to throw it at.

If you are kept awake all night it is of no interest to them

I saw about dozen motorcyclists going up Davy Drive Hollingdean on Friday noon escorted by four police bikes, I thought it was excessive.

why don't they take their pollution somewhere else for the next 20 years? They park wherever they like and make a racket that you can hear all day and night. Give our city a rest.
