A teenager was stunned when he bit into a doughnut and found a live grub.
Paul Nicholls, 15, felt something strange as he bit into the treat before choking and coughing up the little creature.
Paul, a student at Worthing High School, was having breakfast with his family at their home in Northcourt Road, Worthing, when he made the discovery.
His dad, Tim, described the creature as being like a small pink worm or grub. He intends to return it to the newly-opened Morrisons supermarket, in Newland Road, to ask for an explanation.
He said the family were concerned what the grub is and want the supermarket chain to examine it.
Morrisons said it will investigate when the product has been returned to them.
A spokesman for Morrisons said: "The quality and safety of all the products we sell is of paramount importance to us.
“We urge the customer to return the product and foreign body to store or head office so we can carry out a thorough investigation and resolve this matter."
