A murder enquiry has been launched after a young woman was found dead after a fire in her flat.
Andrea Waddell, 29, was found at her home in Upper Lewes Road, Brighton, by firefighters late on Thursday night.
Following a post mortem examination yesterday evening, Sussex Police are now treating her death as suspicious.
Another resident in the building called firefighters at 11.39pm on Thursday.
They discovered Ms Waddell’s body in the first-floor flat at the back of the house.
Sussex Police's Major Crime Branch were immediately called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or who has any information about the incident is urged to contact police on 0845 6070999, quoting serial 1925 of October 15, Operation Merewood.
