Thugs dragged a man out of a kebab shop and beat him in an alley.

The 24-year-old victim suffered an eye injury in the assault and is now waiting for further checks to find out the extent of the damage.

Police are hunting two men and have arrested another over the attack, which happened in the Premier kebab shop in North Road, Lancing.

Officers are studying CCTV footage of the attack and trying to trace the suspects’ movements over the evening.

Detective Inspector Rob Walker of Sussex Police said: “This was a nasty, and we believe unprovoked, assault.

“We would appeal for any witnesses to come forward.“ Three white men walked into the shop at about 7pm on Saturday night.

The first man was described as in his early to mid 20s, between 5ft 11in and 6ft, slim or average build, with short brown hair, wearing a "bright light" blue T-shirt, dark jeans and white trainers. He was later spotted wearing a black jacket.

The other two men were both in their mid-20s. One had shaved dark hair, was of average build, wearing a black T-shirt and dark jeans with white trainers.

The other had short brown hair, a black T-shirt, lighter jeans and white trainers.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on bail while the police inquiry continues.
