A 24-year-old man has appeared in court on a murder charge.
Michael Bishop is accused of stabbing Stuart Slade, 35, to death in Hampton Place, off Western Road, Brighton, on December 30.
Mr Slade, who had a young son by an ex-partner, was unemployed and living in the YMCA in Old Steine, Brighton, at the time.
Bishop, of no fixed abode, appeared at Lewes Crown Court yesterday (Fri) for a preliminary hearing. He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on January 11 ahead of a trial expected to take place in April.
