His blue Citroen Berlingo and a red Vauxhall Astra hit the animal on the B2192 Lewes Road at Easons Green, near Uckfield.

The Citroen driver, 51, from Netherfield, who has not been named, died at the scene after the crash at about 4.55pm on Friday, a Sussex Police spokesman said.

The condition of the Vauxhall driver, a 50-year-old woman from Heathfield, has not been disclosed, although she was treated for shock at the scene.

Police asked for witnesses to contact them on 0845 6070 999, quoting Operation Theydon.

The Argus should NOT encourage comments where someone has lost their life - it's insensitive and cheap!

I agree with jakiB,

There were some horrible things posted when my mother comitted suicide two years ago, one in particular about the police wasting there time dealing with the incident, which I thought was sick

Not only is this insenitive, cheap and nasty journalism it's also very lazy as the Argus doesn't know who is involved and is hoping someone will come up with the victim's name - shame on you Argus - employ some proper journalists.
