Homes have been flooded and roads closed because of flooding.

The village of Alfriston has been badly affected with water seeping into homes over night after the Cuckmere River burst its banks.

Fields in the area were water logged.

The Environment Agency has a flood warning in place for Barcombe Mills, near Lewes.

There are also several lower level flood watches across the county.

Sussex is thought to have had the wettest November on record. Record rainfall of 167.2mm fell between November 1 and 24 and the last few days of downpours are thought to have made this November wetter than 2000, when 219.1mm of rain fell.
