Victims of hate crime will be offered more support thanks to a new partnership.
A Hate Crime Directory has been launched by the East Sussex Safer Communities Partnership.
The online directory gives people information about where to get help if they know about a hate crime, which is motivated by hostility or prejudice based upon the victim’s disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or transgender.
Councillor Bob Tidy, lead member for community services at East Sussex County Council, said: “Although hate crime in East Sussex is relatively low in comparison to the national figures, we know it is under reported. The Partnership has put together the directory to help raise awareness and increase reporting of this crime, as well as to make sure victims get the support they deserve.”
