Tom Lyons converted a second-half penalty to earn Horsham a 1-1 draw away to Hendon in Ryman premier.

The Hornets trailed to a 21st-minute strike from the hosts' Kevin MacLaren but earned a share of the spoils thanks to a 65th-minute penalty from substitute Lyons, who joined the club last week.

However, the talking point of the match was an early injury to Gary Charman who was treated on the pitch for half-an-hour following a clash of heads in the first ten minutes before being taken to hospital where it was confirmed he had suffered a double fracture of the cheekbone. He was allowed to return to Sussex after treatment but may need surgery.

In Ryman division one south, Eastbourne Town went down 3-1 away to high-flying Godalming Town.

Stand-in goalkeeper Sheldon Levett made two costly mistakes for Town who were 3-0 down by the time they pulled a goal back courtesy of an own goal.

Crawley Down's John O'Hara League Cup quarter-final at home to East Grinstead was postponed.
