Woman dead after A27 crash

A woman has been killed after colliding with another car and a tree this morning.

Police were called at 9am to the scene of a crash involving two cars on the A27 outside The White Swan pub in Arundel.

A 30-year-old woman, from Worthing, who was driving a blue Saab suffered serious head injuries and was extracted from her car and rushed to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where she later died.

Two men in the other vehicle, who were 44 and 83 years old, were taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester with serious injuries.

The area is still being investigated but the road has now reopened.
