Sussex rotary club plans Europe's biggest nativity

A mass of Marys, swarm of shepherds and crop of kings are needed for Europe's largest nativity.

One woman is trying to create the biggest living nativity after seeing one in Germany and feeling convinced Sussex could do better.

Lewes Rotary Club president Daisie McKie is hoping to have hoards of Christmas story hopefuls at the event on Sunday.

Pupils from St Pancras Catholic Primary School, in De Montford Road Lewes are already planning on taking part in the mass sing-a-long, but Ms McKie is hoping children and adults from across the county will join in the event at Spring Barn Farm on Sunday (DEC 13).

Ms McKie said: “It won't be like a concert with people performing. We want everyone to come along and join in and sing some carols.

“We want as many people as possible dressed up as kings or shepherds or Marys, Josephs and Jesuses.”

The event at Spring Barn Farm starts at 4.30pm on Sunday.

Anyone wanting to join in is urged to trun up dressed ad their favourite nativity character.
