A rescue bid has been made to help some of the hundreds of staff made redundant by Lloyds Banking Group.
Domestic appliance warranty firm Domestic and General has offered up to 200 jobs at its Brighton call centre to workers being laid off by Lloyds.
In November the financial group announced plans to close its building in Gloucester Place, Brighton, and lay off the 425 staff based there.
The offer from Domestic and General has come following an intervention by Brighton and Hove City Council's City Employment Initiatives team, which brought the two firms together.
It is believed American Express has also been trying to find opportunities at its offices in the city.

how nice of domestic and general somehow to offer 200 jobs to laid off workers of lloyds. what about everyone else that is in brighton and unemployed.why are they not allowed to apply for the vacancies if they desire to do so.what happened to fairness............ ..or should i say equality.this in my eyes is a clear case of discrimination of the unemployed of brighton.....after all the vacancies are at a call centre.
