A man has been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire in a block of flats.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally with a cigarette in a bedroom.
East Sussex fire crews attended the house fire in Greatham Court off the Old London Road in Brighton.
Three fire engines were called to the scene at 7.48 this morning at the flats near to Patcham House School.
