Heather Mills survives Dancing on Ice

Hove resident Heather Mills has proven a hit on ITV's Dancing on Ice.

Ms Mills, the former wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, impressed the judges despite her disability of having only one leg.

The former model, who lost her left leg after being knocked over by a police bike in 1993, said: “I'm doing this for charity and to inspire all the amputees on my website. After the dancing show in America, I had emails from young amputees asking me to show them how to do things.”

Her partner Matt Evers said: “Heather has taken a disability and turned it into an ability.

“It's been a great challenge for me to come up with other options. It's absolutely inspirational.”

The judges on tonight's show scored her third highest and, together with the public vote, it was enough to see her avoid the dance off and stay on the show.
