The Argus asks you to join our Help for Haiti

The devastating scenes in Haiti have shocked us all.

About 200,000 people have died and another 1.5 million are homeless.

Now The Argus is asking you to do your bit to help the survivors.

This Friday we are naming Help For Haiti Day and we are appealing for you to hold a fundraising event to raise much-needed funds for the devastated country.

It can be anything at all you can think of from baking cakes to jumble sales, coffee mornings to dress down day.

All we ask is you do something to help.

It might be something individually or collectively at your school or business. It really does not matter as long as we raise as much cash as we can.

Please tell us what you are planning so we can let our readers know.

We will produce a list of events in the newspaper every day next week and try to get pictures from as many as possible. We will also ask you to send us pictures of your events.

Tell us what you are planning by emailing news@theargus.co.uk. You can also help by passing on this message and asking your colleagues, friends and relatives to do their bit for Help for Haiti Day.

The Argus has joined forces with Unicef and all donations can be sent to www.unicef.org.uk/haitiARG1 or by filling out this coupon:
