A man was remanded in custody when he appeared in court today charged with the murder of a waiter whose body was found after his blood was spotted dripping into the office below. Mohammed Anhar, 33, of Gurdon Road, east London, also faces a charge of aggravated burglary. The body of Ahmed Remon Hayder, 27, known as Ray, was found in a flat above a firm of architects in Sutton Park Road, Seaford, East Sussex, just before 1pm last Monday. A post-mortem examination found he died of head injuries. Tributes were paid to Mr Hayder, who lived with his family in the flat, which is linked to the Moon of India restaurant where he worked as a waiter. Describing him as a "beloved son and brother", the statement released by police said he was actively involved with the Seaford Bengali community and "would never hurt a fly". No pleas were entered when Anhar appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court. He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on February 10.
