Scores of jobs are under threat at a Sussex drinks wholesaler.
It’s believed the Hailsham branch of Waverley TBS, which employs about 70 members of staff, could be closed as part of plans to restructure the brand.
Employees at The Ropemaker Park, Diplocks Way, site claim they have been told their offices are at the centre of the “streamlining” process.
One worker, who did not want to be named, said: “I was given the impression I had until May to find a new job, and that the depot would be one of the regional distribution centres to close.”
The firm, which has said it will shed 200 jobs countrywide, yesterday refused to comment on the future of the Hailsham depot.
A spokeswoman for WTBS confirmed there were “proposals to restructure it's logistics network.”
She added: “Waverley TBS currently employs 1,300 people.
“If fully implemented, these proposals will require a net reduction of around 200 jobs in total when compared to the current structure.
“Every effort will be made to seek alternative employment for those affected.”
