Firefighters spent more than 12 hours at the scene of a scrap yard blaze.

Crew members were called to the MDJ Light Brothers yard in Three Cups, near Heathfield where 200 tonnes of scrap metal was believed to be alight.

About 30 firefighters attended about 11.20am yesterday.

They did not leave the scene until 11.40pm.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue confirmed two crew members were treated for smoke inhalation.

Investigation officers attended the yard this morning to discover the cause of the blaze.
