Two men were arrested after a gun was fired in an attempted robbery at a chemists.
The men, in their teens, were arrested after the raid at Lloyds Pharmacy in Middle Village, Bolnore, near Haywards Heath, at 4pm on Monday.
Police said one man walked into the shop and fired two shots from a handgun towards the ceiling.
He fled empty-handed. Staff were described as shocked but unhurt. They declined to talk about their ordeal yesterday.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Following immediate police enquiries and a search of the area two men, both aged 19 were arrested at different locations nearby. There was no violence or injury during the arrests. There was no damage to the building."
