150 jobs created at new Worthing superstore

Scores of new jobs are being created with the opening of a superstore.

The Range has moved into the former MFI site in Pages Corner Retail Park, Worthing, which has been empty since last summer.

The chain's 42nd UK store will have 35,000 sq ft of retail space across two floors, selling more than 65,000 products in 16 departments, ranging from arts and crafts, furniture, textiles, garden, DIY and pet care.

A total of 150 jobs will be created when the store opens its doors on April 2, with positions including departmental managers, store managers to back office and warehouse staff.

The Range was founded by former market stall owner Chris Dawson.

Oooh goody. More minimum wage jobs to be propped up by tax credits and the benefits system. Just what Worthing needs. Another corporate leech on the public purse. I cannot contain my joy.

You're right. It's better that they have no jobs at all and be propped up by taxes directly on the dole.

What sort of jobs does JRH want created, if any?

Good luck to them but they are in a rotten place for attracting customers - as MFI found. Unless you happen to be around that backwater you won't even know they are there.
