Nick Lambert from Brighton is enjoying a new zest for life after his sister donated one of her kidneys to save him.
Ashley Adsett says she didn't even have to think about it when she realised her brother urgently needed a transplant and immediately offered to help.
The pair recently celebrated the first anniversary of their operation and are helping to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.
They appear in a new permanent photographic exhibition called Give and Let Live on show at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
The display features 18 portraits of people around the UK who have donated kidneys alongside the recipients.
Photographer Holly Cocker, a kidney transplant patient herself, started the project to explore the relationship between donors and patients.
