Train delays after death on line

Train commuters along the south coast face disruption tonight after a death on the line Several services have been cancelled and delays are expected.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP can confirm that a person has died after being struck by a train near to Emsworth rail station, Hampshire.

“The incident was reported to police at 3.15pm today, Friday 12 March, and is being treated as non-suspicious.

“Officers from Hampshire Constabulary also attended, alongside paramedics from the local ambulance service.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The train involved was the 1.32pm London Victoria to Southampton Central service.
